“Nothin’ But a Rock Song” single drop and video premiere

A second track from DOO WOP IN THE DARK: A PORTRAIT OF LOU REED drops today!

“After the world rejected the VELVETS, and his record company rejected his masterpiece ‘BERLIN’, LOU REED became an angry, wired ghost, stalking the stage with a rock band, pumping steroids and speed into his music as he spat in the face of the music industry, using his scythe-like tongue to cut down everyone in his way,” says Chris. That’s the story told in “Nothin’ But a Rock Song”.

Thanks to God is in the TV for premiering the video.

The track is performed by Chris, Alan Holden Berliant, and Chris Bruce. The video was directed and edited by IAIN W. MUTCH/Walkerandwilliam, who has made videos for a number of Chris’s projects.

DOO WOP IN THE DARK: A PORTRAIT OF LOU REED brings together a unique mix of Lou Reed’s own compositions, spanning his career from the Velvet Underground on, along with Chris’s own songs, detailing the creative and often turbulent path of Reed’s life from his teenage years through to his death in 2013. The full album will be available digitally and on double CD while a selection of tracks will be released on a single 12″ vinyl record on October 16th 2026. Read all of the details on CC.com. Pre-orders are being taken on Bandcamp.
